TN law minister speaks on O Panneerselvam talks says committee formed to hold talks with OPS
The Mannargudi family has been sidelined and now the war is for the Tamil throne. Neither EPS nor OPS wants to come out in the open and make their stand clear, but the noises which are coming out from either camps indicate that both factions would like to appropriate the Chief Minister’s chair as a condition for their merger.
Amid reports of a possible merger, AIADMK ministers’ Jayakumar and M. Thambidurai have met governor C. Vidyasagar Rao yesterday.
OPS faction though short in numbers, appears to be calling the shots. OPS have set three conditions for the merger between the two factions.
While OPS’ demands of VK Sasikala and Dinakaran’s ouster have been granted. His wish to return to the CM’s chair will pose to be a larger problem. Thambidurai has stated that EPS will continue as the chief minister as he was chosen by 124 MLAs. But it remains to be seen as to who will win this battle of wits.
