United Airlines Drags Passenger Off Plane For Refusing To Volunteer To Be Bumped
United Airlines Drags Passenger Off Plane For Refusing To Volunteer To Be Bumped A United Airlines passenger was forcibly dragged off an overbooked flight on Sunday–and injured in the process.
The man had refused to give up his assigned seat after the airline randomly selected him to “voluntarily” give it up. They needed the seat so their own staff could use it.
Other passengers shot video of the incident and posted it to Twitter and Facebook.
UA overbooked the Friday flight and asked for four volunteers to give their seats up so that airline crew could be at work the next day.
The doctor didn’t want to volunteer because he needed to see his patients.
Three airport security officers used physical force to remove the doctor from his assigned seat, injuring him and causing his mouth to bleed.
